Departmental Student Unions
Departmental Student Unions are a bridge between you, your Department, and your Student Society. There are over 40 active SFSS Departmental Student Unions. If you're taking a class, are a major or minor in a department then you're automatically part of that student union.
A Departmental Student Union might host career fairs, socials, pub nights, conferences, publish journals, be involved in faculty hires, advise on curriculum, and do special projects with SFSS funding.
The SFSS provides a Student Union Organiser for ongoing support and assistance in coordinating these projects, programs, services and other events that are of benefit to the membership. Visit Antonio Daling in MBC 2238, phone 778.782.3131 or email organiser@sfss.ca.
To facilitate in the promotion of your DSUs, the SFSS has a Student Outreach Worker to assist DSUs executive members when conducting classroom speeches. Approach [currently unavailable] in MBC 2234 or email dsuoutreach@sfss.ca.
