Week of Welcome

Every September and January the SFSS coordinates events to welcome new and returning back to class.

Welcome to SFU! Your Student Society - the SFSS - is happy to welcome new and old students to the campus. We hope you will check out our events during the first days of school - many are free, and most are all ages!

September 2009 Events

ORIENTATION WEEK

Tuesday September 1st

• SFSS presents Starlight Cinema: An Outdoor Movie Night (8:30 pm -10:30 pm, Maggie Benston Hill)

Wednesday September 2nd

• Services Fair / New student orientation (11 am - 2:30 pm, Convo Mall) Come and meet the SFSS Board members and get your free SFSS handbook and day!

WEEK OF WELCOME

Tuesday September 8th

• SFSS Pancake Breakfast (9 am - 1 pm, Convo Mall)
Wednesday September 9th
• SFSS Freezie Day (noon - 4 pm, Convo Mall)

Thursday September 10th

•   SCC Annual Free BBQ (11 am - 3 pm, Surrey)
•   Shag In The Magg (7 pm - 11 pm, Atrium Cafeteria, Maggie Benston Centre)All ages dance party!
•   First Pub Night of the Semester at the SFSS Highland Pub

Friday September 11th

• Science Frosh (1 pm - 5 pm)
SFU will also be hosting Week of Welcome events from September 8 - 10 at Surrey Campus (10 am - 3 pm) & Vancouver Campus (10 am - 6:30 pm)Friday September 11th
• Clan Kickoff Concert (4 pm, Convo Mall)

Monday & Tuesday, September 14 - 15

• Surrey Clubs Days (10 am - 3 pm, Surrey Campus)

Tuesday to Thursday, September 15 - 17

• Burnaby Clubs Days (10 am-3 pm)

Tuesday September 15th

• Insurance Fair (10 am - 3 pm, MBC 2212)

Friday September 18th

• The Arts ‘n’ Science Social (6 pm to midnight, Atrium cafeteria). Beer Garden/Concert. No cover.
