Campus CommunityPartnersGSS - Graduate Student Society at SFU Since
1 May 2008, Graduate Students have been officially completely and
totally separate from the Simon Fraser Student Society. The Grad
Society runs its own extended health and dental plan and funds graduate
caucuses. The SFSS works with the GSS
on issues of mutual concern. The GSS co-funds the ombuds office, the
women's centre, out on campus, the U-Pass, and the FREE legal clinic.
RHA - Residence Hall Association Like the student union, but solely for residents, the Residence Hall Association promotes many of the events in rez. Students
living in Residence pay a $10 per semester fee to the RHA to coordinate
this organisation, this money is collected on behalf of the RHA through
rez-life.
CSLF - The Coalition for Student Loan Fairness
The Coalition for Student Loan Fairness is a national, non-profit,
non-partisan, non-governmental organization dedicated to reforming
Canada's provincial and federal student loan programs. It is the only
organization in Canada that has this specific mandate. The Coalition
was founded in April of 2007 by two student loan borrowers in
Vancouver, British Columbia. Former SFSS member, Mr. Julian Benedict and Mr. Mark O'Meara
realized that while there were many post-secondary organizations
involved in education, there was no organization dedicated specifically
to addressing the needs of student loan borrowers.
